Confucius Institute Scholarships

The following 4 scholarships are available in 2017. (Application opens February 15, 2017)


1. Scholarship for Students of Master's Degree (2 years) in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Deadline for application May 1, 2017)


Criteria: Bachelor degree or equivalent, HSK 5 (>180), HSKK Intermediate (>50), Age below 45. (Click here for information about the HSK tests).


Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 2,500 per month.

2. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Students (Deadline for application May 1, 2017)


Criteria: HSK 3 (>180), HSKK Beginner (>60),Age 16-35. (Click here for information about the HSK tests).


Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 2,500 per month. Courses include Chinese language, history and philosophy.

3. Scholarship for One-Semester Students (Deadline for application May 1 and October 1)


Criteria: HSK 2 (>120), HSKK Beginner (>40), Age 16-35. (Click here for information about the HSK tests).


Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 2,500 per month. Courses include Chinese language, history and philosophy.

4. Four-week scholarship to the International Summer School (ISS) at Renmin University
(Deadline for application March 20) - 20 scholarships available!

Criteria:

Students at Copenhagen Business School or Copenhagen Business Confucius Institute, Age 18-30.

 

Coverage:

Scholarship winners are exempt from tuition fees (12.000 RMB). In addition it is possible to apply for free shared accommodation. You may choose two courses of which one should be a Chinese language course. Other courses include Chinese language, business courses, history etc (Click here for more details). If you are interested in taking a third course, it is possible to add a course for 2.000 RMB. Please be aware that ECTS are not directly transferred to your home university.

 

HSK Test:

If you have already participated in a HSK Chinese language test please state so in your application. It is required that you sign up for a HSK test level during the Summer University. More information about the test levels here: http://www.chinesetest.cn

Timeline:

March 20: Deadline for application

April 20 (app.): Scholarship result is announced

May 1 (app.): Buy your own flight ticket

May 25: Deadline for course selection

June 1 (app.): Visa Application

July 1-2: Arrival in Beijing

July 20 (app.): Participate in HSK test at RUC

July 30: End of summer university

 

More Information:

• The application is open from February 15, 2017.

• The scholarship does not cover flight ticket, Chinese visa or medical insurances.

• All applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens.

• ECTS are not directly transferred to your home university.

• Applicants should make sure that their passport has at least 6 months’ validity upon entering China.

The purpose of the Confucius Institute Scholarships is to support the development of Chinese language skills. The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program was established in 2009 and since then more than 20,000 applicants from 150 countries have been funded to study in China.
